SABER and the American Society for Microbiology presents Microbiology Teaching & Learning Community: Assessments in Biology

May 31, 2023 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

SABER and the American Society for Microbiology are teaming up for the second year in a row for a new 7-week webinar series, “Microbiology Teaching & Learning Community: Assessments in Biology”. This series runs May 31 – July 19, and the weekly webinars with a skilled webinar facilitator — including SABER members Miriam Segura-Totten and Bryan Dewsbury!  And, it’s more than just a webinar series; we will pair you with participants who have similar interests as you for small group peer mentoring. Not a microbiologist? Don’t let the title dissuade your participation because our topics are broadly applicable across the biological sciences.

This series provides participants with the opportunity to learn about current assessment techniques/topics important to undergraduate STEM educators, share ideas and engage in dialogue with colleagues. Join us for timely and important topics, including: AI and pedagogy, ungrading, transparency for assessments and grading, and the equity-minded classroom.

Through this partnership, SABER members receive the member discounted rate for registration. Prior to registering, email me (rho…@asmusa.org) with your SABER membership info to receive the discount code.

Find your new faculty learning community with this engaging program, read more about the program and register today! Don’t delay, the series starts in only 1 week on May 31!

I’m available for all your questions,

Rachel Horak
