Fostering Academic Wellness

March 24th

Dive into essential topics that empower mentors and mentees to enhance communication and support in time management, prioritization, organization, and work-life integration. Equip yourself with skills that reduce stress and promote wellness!

Join us in a collaborative space designed for faculty mentors and graduate students to strengthen their mentoring relationships and co-create actionable plans through engaging case studies and activities. Built on the nationally recognized CIMER curriculum and evidence-based practices, this is your chance to elevate your mentoring partnership! Light snacks will be provided—feel free to bring your own lunch!

For the past three years, CEILS has successfully connected mentors and mentees through facilitated conversations on key research mentoring topics like effective communication and aligning expectations. With positive feedback from faculty and graduate students, we’re excited to expand our topics and open these enriching discussions to all mentor/mentee pairs! Here’s what past participants have to say about their experience:

“I think at times it encouraged tougher conversations that I didn’t feel comfortable broaching on my own. Also a really useful time for self-reflection, especially through the case studies” – Faculty participant
“I really enjoyed hearing the views of my mentor and other mentors and being able to have a dialogue in a positive setting” – Graduate student
“It is valuable even if I’ve done it before to refresh ideas and check in” – Faculty participant
“I think it was very valuable especially the large group discussion which were actually less intimidating than the ones with my mentor” – Graduate student
