On behalf of the Center for Community College Partnerships, UCLA Division of Life Sciences, and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Tracy Johnson along with Alfred Herrera will be hosting the first annual UCLA-Community College Summit entitled Building a Transfer Sending and Transfer Receptive Culture in STEM. Funded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, this summit is an opportunity to bring together a community of stakeholders to discuss ways in which UCLA and our local community college partners can work together to support students interested in and entering the life sciences at UCLA.
We would like to provide an opportunity to open the lines of communication between our campuses, discuss the current state of UCLA preparation and admission of community college transfers, and update you all on curricular changes that may affect community college students aspiring to study in the life sciences. More importantly, we would like to hear from all of you about the important work taking place on our campuses and understand better how we can support each other.
