Dr. Harrison Parker has a background in physical sciences with degrees in environmental sciences and engineering. In his Ph.D. he studied how to extract further information from existing remotely sensed data to isolate surface signals of air pollution and greenhouse gases. He discovered his love for pedagogy and teaching through interactions with the center for teaching and learning in graduate school and is growing that passion with his work at UCLA. He is excited to further understand how to make academia more inclusive and equitable and help make that happen. In his current role, Dr. Parker helps with the SEA Change Initiative which works to identify and make meaning of equity gaps in STEM education and he also assists with planning and assessing the CEILS JEDI workshops.
