The programs and initiatives of the Center for Education Innovation and Learning in the Sciences (CEILS) serve three primary audiences: 1) faculty and instructional staff, 2) graduate students and postdoctoral scholars, and 3) our regional network of instructors and future faculty committed to equitable and inclusive STEM education in our Southern California region. CEILS Director, Associate Directors, and Assistant Directors are active in national networks and often present at national and regional conferences throughout the year.

About you: We invite applications from seasoned professionals with a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in content development and design, communication strategy, writing, social media, and web design and development. Your digital communications expertise will include experience producing designs and engaging layouts for a variety of non-routine and complex website applications. You will understand how to ensure search engine optimization leveraging user analytics. You are confident with multiple social media platforms. You value technical accuracy of all outward facing materials, and bring technical skills in computer applications for web production, image handling, publishing and design, illustration, presentation preparation, animation, web interaction, and / or other state-of-the-art web communication capabilities You are eager to develop and implement original ideas and correctly identify and effectively solve problems and bring a thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of design and user experience, including skill to design in an appealing, lively and relevant way.

You also enjoy collaboration and working on a team. You have strong communication skills and are open to feedback and growth as well as mentoring others and serving as a leader on campus. You look for opportunities to innovate and continuously improve our center’s work.

Location: This position can have flexibility for working from home part-time or full-time basis. A preference will be given to local candidates, but competitive candidates are encouraged to apply regardless of location.

Salary: The anticipated starting salary is between $60-$70K annually depending on experience.
