DESCRIPTION:The Semel Healthy Campus Initiative Center at UCLA & the MindWell team invites you to our annual Eudaimonia Awards 2023 Ceremony! \nApril 20 | 5:00pm – 7:00pm \nFood and refreshments will be served! \nJames West Alumni Center (Collins Conference Room and Patio)\, Los Angeles\, CA 90095). \nRSVP HERE \n  \nDr. Dacher Keltner will receive a special Eudaimonia Award and share a keynote address about Awe – Connecting to the Greater Good.  Dr. Keltner is a professor of psychology at the University of California\, Berkeley\, and the faculty director of UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center. A renowned expert in the science of human emotion\, Dr. Keltner studies compassion and awe\, how we express emotion\, and how emotions guide our moral identities and search for meaning. His research interests also span issues of power\, status\, inequality\, and social class. He is the author of The Power Paradox and the bestselling book Born to Be Good\, and the coeditor of The Compassionate Instinct. His latest book\, Awe\, is a national bestseller. Dr. Keltner’s address will be followed by a Q&A session\, and an award ceremony\, during which we will learn about the work of UCLA Bruins who have reflected the ideals of Eudaimonia by living a life of purpose and meaning with commitment to the greater good.

DESCRIPTION:CIRTL@UCLA is excited to announce the first ever Teaching as Research Day held on April 26 from 12-5pm PST. TAR Day will include several events including a watch party luncheon for the CIRTL Network TAR Presentations from 12-1:30\, a social\, games\, and conversation hour from 1:30-3\, and a series of lightning talks followed by a poster session and happy hour reception from 3-5. You are welcome to come for some of the time or stay the whole day- whatever works with your schedule! RSVP here! \nIf you would like to present your TAR project\, there are 3 possible ways you could do it (AND you can do all three if you want!) \n\nSign up for the all-network presentations (12-1:30). You can learn more and sign up here.\nPresent a poster at the CEILS Ed Talks Poster Session (4-5).\nPresent a lightning talk before the poster session (3-4). If you are presenting a poster\, you also have the option to present a 5-10 minute talk before the session starts to garner interest in your project and invite folks to visit and engage with more questions. Ideally folks presenting a lightning talk will also present a poster\, but if you are unable to make the poster session and still want to present to an audience at UCLA\, you are welcome to give a lightning talk. DESCRIPTION:“Reimagined Critical Pedagogy: Resistance and Solidarity in Language Classrooms” conference \nThe Excellence in Pedagogy and Innovative Classrooms (EPIC) Program\, an initiative from the UCLA Division of Humanities\, is pleased to host the “Reimagined Critical Pedagogy: Resistance and Solidarity in Language Classrooms” conference focused on language pedagogy. Conference sessions will be held both in person and remotely on Friday\, April 28th and remotely on Saturday\, April 29th\, 2023. The keynote speaker will be Professor Henry A.
