Summer Institutes of Scientific Teaching: Friday Happy Hours

- May 8th,1:00 – 2:00 pm: Talking Field Experiences Online! (with Daniel Barton)
What about natural history, study and sampling design, data collection, and other topics normally taught in field settings in geology, forestry, ecology, and related disciplines? Daniel Barton will present anecdotes, resources and data about new modes of teaching field-based content remotely, identifying potential innovative substitutes for disciplines typically requiring field work. He will raise a discussion on potential equity & assessment issues associated with this emergent active learning pedagogical strategy.
