Note about the Conference Schedule:
The NABT Professional Development Conference will begin with workshops and field trips followed by the opening session speaker scheduled from 3:00 PM on Thursday, November 8th. Educational sessions will be scheduled all day on Friday, November 9th and Saturday, November 10th. Saturday will conclude with the closing speaker at 5:00 PM followed by a special evening event. Workshops, field trips, and committee meetings will be scheduled on the morning of Sunday, November 11th. Please plan your travel accordingly.
Registration for the 2018 NABT Professional Development Conference is now open. A valid registration must be on file to order tickets for special workshops, meal functions, field trips, and special events. Downloadable Registration Form
If you must cancel for any reason, please notify NABT in writing by October 22. A $10 handling fee will be assessed for all refunds. No refunds will be made after October 22. Registration fees for program participants are not refundable at any time.
Submit a proposal to present at the 10th Annual Biology Education Research Symposium and/or the Undergraduate Biology Professional Development Summit at the National Association of Biology Teachers (NABT) 2018 Professional Development Conference. The conference will be held in San Diego, CA from November 8-11. These are both refereed sessions and all papers will go through double-blind review. The Research Symposium features biology education research focused on teaching and learning biology at all levels of education. The Professional Development Summit features work aimed at developing undergraduate instructional assistants, graduate teaching assistants, and/or faculty. Please see the attached calls for proposals to learn more about each symposia, the guiding criteria for proposals, and how to submit your proposals.
The proposal submission deadline is midnight on June 15, 2018. Blind review will take place in June with final selection by early July 2018. Submitters will be notified of acceptance or denial in mid-July 2018. All presenters are required to register for the conference. In additional, presenters for the Research Symposium will need to provide an electronic manuscript before the conference for distribution through the Proceedings.
