Save the Date: The Center for the Advancement of Teaching (CAT) announces the 2020 Teaching Symposium- Teaching at UCLA: Exploring Approaches to Enhance Student Learning that will take place on April 14th, 2020

UCLA’s Center for the Advancement of Teaching is hosting an all-day, campus-wide teaching symposium on April 14th, 2020 at the UCLA Faculty Center. Our goal is to learn from each

other about teaching practices that can enhance student learning. This will be accomplished through:

  • Short “lightning talks” by UCLA faculty and graduate students who have engaged in innovative instruction. General themes of the talks include Enabling Students to Tackle Complexity, Engaging Students in Large Lectures and GE Courses, and Making Student Learning Visible to Improve Teaching.
  • A faculty panel on using student feedback, peer observation, and self-reflection to improve teaching.
  • A panel of undergraduate students discussing teaching practices that best enable them to learn.
